Preventing an employee from incurring meal break penalties

Some hourly waged employees act in a role that does not allow them to take dedicated meal breaks throughout their shifts, instead taking a series of smaller breaks when possible that amount to a full meal break.

Shifts for these employees, lacking a meal break, will trigger a meal break penalty if they are of a length determined by their award. To override this penalty generation follow the procedure below.

Select the Main sub menu.

Select the Maintain Employees option.

Select the required employee from the list  on the left.

Select the Edit option in the toolbar.

Tick the Override Award Interval Rule option.
